KATE McARTHUR | ASSOCIATE WATER
Many years in various non-government and local government roles has given Kate excellent facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills which she applies to resolving tensions around the management of water. Kate is an excellent communicator of science and an experienced expert witness and independent commission with a strong interest in Māori water values and resource management.
Kate's areas of expertise include:
Water quality policy and plan development
Freshwater engagement processes
Designing and undertaking water monitoring programmes and assessments of effects
Provision of technical expert evidence for applicants, submitters, and councils on water quality and aquatic biodiversity
Working with iwi to identify and integrate Mataurangi Maori into freshwater planning processes
